Although Spielberg’s Red Bull Ring is not one of Yamaha’s favorite tracks, Fabio Quartararo has fond memories of the Styrian circuit. So the Frenchman wants to return to the top in Austria.

Last year, Fabio Quartararo managed to celebrate second place overall with 248 points in the World Championships. However, in the 2023 season, the Frenchman finished 11th in the World Championship with just 65 points after nine races. A third place in Austin as well as a third place in the Assen sprint race were Yamaha Raider’s factory successes.

Last time at Silverstone, Quartararo started from last place and could only get 15th at the Grand Prix.

Quartararo expects to find his man in the character of Alex Raines next year

“It was a tough weekend, but at least I felt relatively good for Sunday’s race. Since then I’ve used the time to enjoy the sun. So now I’m ready for the next race weekend.”

The 24-year-old has fond memories of the Red Bull Arena. He finished third there in 2019, and last year he finished second, 0.492 seconds behind race winner Pico Bagnaia. Red Bull Ring is not one of Yamaha’s favorite tracks because of its tough braking distances and stop-and-go nature. Still, Quartararo said so:

“We have good memories of 2022, but of course past successes in MotoGP are not guaranteed. We will do our best and see if we can get back to the top.”
