Péter Szijjártó: There is no doubt that Győr is a bezzeg city.

The last decade of Győr has been a real success story, since 2014, investments worth five hundred billion forints have been brought there, and the Fidesz-KDNP has the city at its heart, so it will continue to keep its development in mind, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto said in Győr on Wednesday.

In his speech, the Prime Minister thanked everyone who participated in writing this success story in recent years, because this era will be one of the golden pages in the city’s history.

The years here in Győr when Fidesz and the KDP were in charge of the city administration were clearly successful years. There is no doubt that Győr is a bustling city. There is no doubt that when we look for positive examples of Hungarian economic growth, we always include Győr at the top – as I do.

He then highlighted infrastructure developments, such as the construction of bike paths or the easing of the Petřović Bridge, measures to make life easier for families, the creation of new nurseries and sports parks, and also that this was achieved through hard work: everyone who wants to work.

He stressed that since 2014, fifty-one major investments worth HUF 500 billion have been brought to Győr, directly creating more than 3,500 new jobs.

“This is the combined performance of this brigade over the past ten years. I believe that these successes would not have been achieved without the excellent cooperation between the government, the mayor, the government and the municipality.”

“I think one of the important reasons for the success story of the past years is that here in Győr, Fidesz is a team sport, and Fidesz-KDNP is a team sport. “So those who worked here are still working, and those who are here, we all see ourselves as a team, as a community,” he added.

Peter Szijjártó then described the local authority and European Parliament elections in June as historic in many ways. He said: “Never before have the representatives closest to the people and the ones furthest from the people been elected at the same time.”
