With the latest update, the Pixel Buds app is now available directly on the home screen of Pixel phones, making it easier to manage your earbuds' settings.
For Google Pixel users, new changes are coming to the Pixel Buds app. Previously, Google hid the Pixel Buds app in the launcher, but with the latest update, that’s no longer the case. Pixel Buds client version 1.0.673625792 supports the Pixel Buds Pro 2, which is expected to be officially released next week. Not only does this update bring support for the new models of headphones, it also makes the app icon visible in the Pixel Launcher, so users can now access it directly from the launch screen if the headphones are paired or saved.
The Pixel Buds app icon has a modern, clean look and provides a convenient way to access settings. The icon can be placed directly on the home screen, making it easier for users to access Pixel Buds settings. Previously, this was only possible through a separate widget that showed the current status of the earbuds, including their color. The introduction of the new icon simplifies the access process, although some users say it looks a bit unusual on the home screen. Using the battery widget provides an alternative solution for those who prefer direct access to settings, while the Bluetooth quick settings tile is also an obvious option.
Interestingly, the Pixel Buds app icon has never been hidden on other Android devices so far, only on Google’s own devices. The new version is now available on the Play Store, and is rolling out widely among users. The update also brings several useful new features to Pixel Buds users. For example, “Hey Google” must now be enabled for it to work on the Pixel Buds, and the touch controls on the new model will no longer be able to read notifications.
The Pixel Buds Pro 2 is also coming, and it is said to be available in 32 countries after the official launch. The new model not only brings technological innovations, but also promises a more comfortable user experience.
