Volvo’s Swedish electric brand Polestar will expand into the United States. The manufacturer plans to open fifteen salons called Polestar Space later this year in several major cities in the United States. After Austin, Denver, and Boston, Polestar locations in Seattle and Washington, D.C., may open in the first half of the year.
In the second half of 2021, Atlanta, New Jersey, Connecticut, Dallas, Detroit, Minneapolis, Phoenix and Orange County, California, may join the list of cities in which Polestar will open showrooms, while it previously opened in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Manhattan.
Online shopping only
Interestingly, Polestar only sells its cars online, which is an understandable move at a time of pandemic, but even the original brand Volvo has not reached that level, they are only planning to offer full sales online. For this reason, striped salons will not be merchants, they will only be used for communication and presentation.
In the United States, the Polestar 2 is available from the manufacturer for $ 59,900. The car is built on the Volvo CMA platform and is powered by a 300 kW electric motor with a range of 375 km according to the EPA and 470 km according to the WLTP standard, according to elective.com.
