Poland has already launched a new fee collection system, e-TOLL. This means carriers have until September 30, 2021 to switch to the new system. With only a week left until the end of the transition period, it is worth getting acquainted with the answers to the most common questions asked by carriers.
Who needs to register in the e-TOLL system?
E-TOLL affects all vehicles over 3.5 tons as well as buses, regardless of their weight.
How do you use the system?
Users can choose from the following solutions:
- E-TOLL PL mobile application that can be downloaded for free from Google Play and Apple Stroe, set up by KAS, and installed on the system user’s phone or tablet
- External Positioning System (ZSL), i.e. the so-called GPS equipment used by telecommunications systems approved by KAS and included in List
- Dedicated on-board OBU equipment is KAPS certified and listed in List, or a multifunctional EETS device (E-BOX)
What should I do with Viatoll?
- Return viaBOX to recover OBU deposit from system operator
- Register with the e-TOL system and connect the settlement account to the selected OBU or ZSL
- Activate the service on the authorized device specified in the e-TOLL system using the mobile application and deactivate via BOX, for example by returning the equipment to the viaTOLL Customer Service Center
What is the deadline to request a refund of the deposit/balance paid via TOLL?
Users have 12 months to request a refund of the deposit/balance paid. The deadline for applications is September 20, 2022.
