His remarks were submitted after a meeting with Danish Prime Minister Metty Friedrixen at her weekend residence, on the second day of an official visit for three days.
Nielsen’s reaction to the repeated interest of US President Donald Trump was to control the important strategic field.
At a press conference, Nielsen said, “The conversation from the United States was not respectful.” He continued: “The words used were not respectable. So we have to stand together in this situation.”
Greenland, which has been committed to independence from Denmark for years, has recently formed a widespread alliance government in response to Trump’s ambitions regarding the region.
The Greenland government said that the three -day visit of Nielsen, which started at the weekend, aims to enhance future cooperation between the two countries.
“Denmark has the will to invest in the Greenland Association, not just for historical reasons. We also have this will because we are part of the (Danish) society,” said Friedriksen.
“Of course, we are ready to continue investing in the Greenland community,” she added. Nielsen will then meet with King Friedrich X. Before returning to Greenland for a ownership visit with Friedrixen.
