Initially, it will only be available from the respective console.
During October, owners of the most expensive monthly subscription to PlayStation Plus Premium will get a big improvement, and if they have a PlayStation 5, they will be able to stream games from the cloud by the end of the month at the latest.
According to Sony, the lineup of PS5 games that can be streamed online will continue to expand, and will be available at rates up to 4K and 60 frames. The company didn’t clarify the range of supported games at launch, but in addition to the rental games that are part of PlayStation Plus Premium, players will also be able to enjoy titles they’ve purchased for their console in other ways.
Another interesting, but not obvious, element of the announcement is that according to Sony, cloud streaming of PS5 games will only require a PlayStation 5 console at first. As a result, in the future, it will also be possible to stream productions to other types of devices, and mobile devices, PCs and PlayStation 4 will likely be taken into consideration as well.
PlayStation Plus Premium, which is required to play games made for PlayStation 5 in the cloud, became more expensive in September, costing HUF 6,000 with monthly billing, HUF 17,800 with quarterly billing, and HUF 54,000 with annual billing. The new feature will first become available in Japan on October 17, then it will debut in Europe on October 23, and finally on October 30, players in North America will get it as well.
