Downing Street has warned that the Russian government will be “punished” for “crossing the border” in the case of Ukraine. The deputy prime minister’s spokesman said “any Russian move to destabilize” would be a strategic mistake with grave consequences.
The 30 member states of NATO, including the United Kingdom, the United States and many of the former Soviet countries bordering Russia, agree that an armed attack on one is an attack on them all and they will help each other.
