Responding will be easier with Gmail's new AI feature – PCW

Users can save a lot of time thanks to Gemini, which is increasingly integrated into the mail system.

Already at the I/O event held in May 2024, Google presented the AI function built into Gmail, which helps users type and formulate answers. Specifically, it is a function called Contextual Smart Replies (unofficial translation: Contextual Smart Replies), which will be included in both the Android and iOS versions of the mail system in the coming weeks.

The Gemini-powered solution can not only generate detailed responses, but also interprets the context of messages, thus suggesting responses that match the topic and tone of the conversation.

When using the function, the AI generates three answers, from which users can choose the version that suits them. If you long press on the answer, you will get a quick preview of the entire text, while you can insert the generated answer with a single click.

As we are used to back home, most of these and similar technologies do not support the Hungarian language at the moment – and unfortunately, this function does not work either. Contextual Smart Replies will initially only be available in English, and it's important that only users with a Google One AI Premium, Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, or Education Premium subscription can use them.

Google has started rolling out this feature in the past few days; If everything is correct, it will reach all users in the coming weeks.
