About 900 Romanian citizens are fighting alongside government forces in the African country.
After two previous deaths, another Romanian citizen lost his life and two others were injured in the fighting in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in recent days, the Romanian Foreign Ministry announced on Sunday.
The statement was quoted by Agrepress news agency as saying that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bucharest had been informed of the situation through the country's embassy in Angola. The announcement revealed that another foreign national was injured in the fighting.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to inform itself of the situation through the Embassy in Luanda, and to date no consular assistance has been requested from the diplomatic representation.
The news agency reported: In February, two more Romanian citizens died and four were injured in Congolese fighting.
The TVR Info news portal wrote that the victims were mercenary soldiers who were injured in a mortar attack.
