Sky Sports F1 expert and commentator Nico Rosberg says George Russell has signed a contract for Mercedes with Toto Wolff on Netflix cameras at the Dutch Grand Prix venue in Zandvoort, who are already in full swing to gather material for the fourth season of Drive To Survive.
One of the more pressing questions in the racing circus pilot’s orbit is whether Valtteri Bottas or George Russell will be Lewis Hamilton’s teammate at Brackley’s stable in 2022. However, according to the 2016 F1 World Championship, Zandvoort has just reached the end of the case.
Bottas’ contract with the Silver Arrows expires at the end of this season and many say he hasn’t done enough this year to deserve another contract extension. Despite the Finn doing better recently and finishing third behind Verstappen and Hamilton at the current Dutch Grand Prix, Rosberg says he won’t be able to impress Wolff anymore.
Speaking of George Russell, I have a rumor about him lately. Tell Rosberg on Sky Sport F1. “In fact, the streaming service provider was called to Toto’s office (Wolff) to record how Russell signs for Mercedes. At the moment, this is the latest rumor circulating in the track.”
The former Austrian Mercedes team boss has stated that there will be no decision on the Bottas-Russell case until the futures of both are certain. Although Russell’s statement in Zandvoort contradicts this somewhat, British pilot Williams recently said he already knows which F1 team he will boost in 2022.
If Russell already subscribes to Mercedes, then Bottas is likely to subscribe to Alfa Romeo, Kimi Raikkonen will retire permanently from Formula 1 at the end of the year.
