Samsung has been working on the Android 15 update with One UI 7 behind the scenes for some time now, and the update was expected to be released to the public late last month. But that original date has come and gone, despite numerous leaks revealing what Samsung's updated OS will bring.
According to some sources, Samsung has stopped One UI 7 due to the One UI 6.1.1 rollout, which has not yet started. However, it seems that there may be more to it than that.
According to reliable sources Ice Universe and Chun Bhai, Samsung has delayed the launch of One UI 7 and its Android 15 update more than previously thought. According to Ice, Samsung has no plans to launch the beta “in the near future,” while Chun Bhai said that Samsung has delayed it “indefinitely,” adding that there is “little confidence” that it will launch in August.
Why the delay? There have been passing mentions of bugs and issues with the update, but it seems that a large part of the delay is simply due to the delayed rollout of One UI 6.1.1. However, it seems that Google has been a bit late in delivering Android 15 as well. The company’s upcoming Pixel 9 lineup is rumored to launch with Android 14, while the August patch based on Android 14 has just rolled out, meaning it won’t arrive until at least September.
