Samsung will combine the previous Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass apps into a single app called Samsung Wallet. The process began last week, with the new service only available in certain regions for now, but will soon be introduced in more countries.
So the integration of the two apps began last week, with Samsung Wallet now available in South Korea, the US, France, Spain, Germany, Italy and the UK. The new service will be launched in additional regions in the coming months. Samsung Wallet offers Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass features at the same time, which means it can store various payment and memberships, digital keys, ID cards, health information, boarding passes, and even crypto wallets.
The digital lock key feature will be supported by BMW cars manufactured after July 2020, as well as many 2021 Hyundai and Genesis models. Licenses and Student IDs will be supported later within the app. Existing Samsung Pass functionality will continue to include password management on various digital devices, and cryptocurrency will also be available.
When Samsung Wallet will be launched in Hungary is a very good question, and we hope that this unified platform will be available here in Hungary this year, which can make users’ lives much easier.
