Developer S-Game has stated that they do not consider Phantom Blade Zero to be another Soul-like game, and now also those who have tried the demo, which has not yet been announced. Plus, you can watch 10 minutes of intense gameplay.
studio On X According to his post, Phantom Blade Zero will not be a Soul-like game, which was never in their plans. “They want to deliver engaging, heart-pounding battles that are frenetic, rewarding and exciting.”
Whatever you call it, the S-Game team has borrowed many ideas from FromSoftware's creations, and we have more routes, shortcuts, hidden corners and multi-layered maps, but “the similarities end there.”
Not only does Phantom Blade Zero have several difficulty levels to choose from, defeated opponents don't respawn when you die or reach a checkpoint. Those lucky enough to try out the beta have already tried out these features, but it's not ready for widespread testing yet, so we'll have to wait a while. Currently, the developers are experiencing frame rate issues, and don't want to release it quickly.
Phantom Blade Zero is coming to PC and PlayStation 5, and we've seen a 10-minute video of the game above from IGN.
