Another version appeared about why Shakira broke up with Gerard Pique after 12 years: according to an acquaintance, the star couple broke up mainly because of money, and not the fraud they mentioned is the real reason.
Shakira and Gerard Pique announced a few weeks after their split after the singer caught the footballer with another woman – at least that was the official justification.
Roberto Garcia, Shakira’s sister’s ex-boyfriend, was now speaking to a Spanish newspaper called ESdiario, saying that the star had already broken up for financial reasons.
The man said that Pique asked Shakira for a larger loan in return for an investment, but the singer and her family, who managed her financial affairs, refused the request, not wanting to confuse finances and private life.
The relationship between Shakira and Pique became lukewarm, but Garcia said it wasn’t okay before: “Shakira insisted on Pique because she wanted her to be the father of her children, and that’s what happened, because they had two wonderful children. He knew he would never marry her.”
