Crews were responding to a large house fire in Shaler Township, Allegheny County, Monday evening. The house is located along Hawthorne Road. The fire appears to have started in a garage before spreading to the rest of the house. Sky 4 above the scene was able to see firefighters on the roof extinguishing the fire. The large first responder presence in the area extended to Shaler Area High School. The Pittsburgh Action News 4 team at the scene heard a loud explosion. It was not clear if it was related to the fire. Allegheny County 911 said there were no injuries from this fire as of 6 p.m., and the fire appeared to be under control as of 7 p.m.
