Team Canada captured four medals Saturday at the World Cup short track speed skating championships in Seoul, South Korea.
Led by Stephen Dubois and his gold medal in the 1000 metres, Pascal Dionne won bronze in the same race to earn Canada a double podium finish. William Dandjeno and Felix Roussel also had a double podium finish in the 1500m-1, taking silver and bronze respectively.
Finishing the race with a time of 1:27.09 seconds, Dubois finished just 0.014 seconds behind Korea’s Daehyun Hwang to win the gold medal. Despite a minor collision crossing the finish line with Hwang, Dion extended his right ski out to eventually cross the line at the start. Dionne crossed the finish line in a time of 1:27.302 to take bronze.
Dubois took silver in the 500 meters last week at the World Cup stop in Beijing.
