The U19 MEVZA Championship for our age group national teams has ended in Maribor.
Girls preparing for the World Cup won four of their five matches, losing only to the Croats, so they could stand on the second step of the podium. The result was more than satisfactory, in addition, the professional staff got an accurate picture of where the game still needed improvement, and we can be sure that the recent bets matches made the team even stronger.
Federal coach Gabor Koenig gave his students a few days off, and then, in the middle of next week, preparations for the Hungarian-Croatian World Cup will continue in August in Budapest. The selected program is also enriched by the European Youth Olympic Festival in Maribor, from 23 to 29 July. between.

“The tournament was excellent for our preparation. We were able to see where we were and what worked well and what we needed to practice in the remaining period. The team fought excellently, sometimes with just its opponent, sometimes with itself, but in each case there was someone who could turn the tide during these Periods. I thank them and the staff, as well as the players who were not with us this time, but played an important role in the life of the team, for once again winning a great medal for Hungarian volleyball. The federal coach of the Hungarian national team stated the following:
“We managed to gather a lot of experience in the tournament. We saw where the national teams of other countries are in this age group, and what we need to improve in order to catch up with them. We will work on this in the next six months during future national team meetings, and I would also like to contact the boys’ clubs “To help prepare the players for the European qualifiers as well as their own goals. We’ve had small successes and been at a low level over the three days. We need to play as many matches as possible together to experience these situations.”
