Simona Halep slipped to 17th place

After losing two spots, Simona Halep is currently 17th in the WTA rankings, which were updated by the Workers’ Union (WTA) on Monday.

Three other Romanian tennis players are in the top 100 in the world: Sorana Cerstia at 40 (-1), Irina Camelia Bejo in the 61st (-3) and Elena Gabriella Ross after reaching the eighth final of the Chicago Championships, six climbing to 92 In pairs, Raluca Olarué remains the best among the Romanian players, currently at 38th place. At the Nur-Sultany (Kazakhstan) tournament last week, semi-finalist Jacqueline Christian advanced to 15th and currently occupies 111th place.

There are no changes at the top of the WTA leaderboard. The Australian Ashleigh Barty is still in first place, the second Ukrainian Arina Sabalenka, and the third Czech Karolina Pliskova. Spaniard Garbine Muguruza is now sixth after winning the Chicago championship, and sixth currently, while Japan’s Naomi Osaka has been eliminated from the top ten.
