Some have already deciphered Stray’s fictional language
  • A unique language was invented for the game
  • B-12 will translate this and that for you
  • But not everything
  • Now a couple has deciphered everything

if you play strayYou must have come across strange symbols adorning banners, sprayed on walls, or appearing on screens and in newspapers. Sometimes your B-12 robot buddy will translate those words for you, but most of the time you won’t know what some things actually mean. So far, because Half-Glass Gaming employee Josh Wirtanen has deciphered which letter of the English alphabet each symbol represents.

He explained that he started with the chapter titles. Each time you start a new part of the game, the icons will say the name of the new chapter with the English translation below. This proved to be a logical starting point, although Wirtanen soon realized that some of the translations were not entirely accurate. In one class, for example, stray In its language it says “Home: Slum – Part One”, but the translation simply says “Slum”. Wirtanen discovered more inaccurate translations in stray while compiling the alphabet. One sheet of music you find says the song is called Come On. However, when you hand it to the guitar-playing robot, he claims the song is called Cool Down. It’s certainly not perfect, but with the help of two commentators who guessed the Q and X symbols, Wirtanen was able to translate every letter of the fictional language, so if you’re interested in a solution, over here Click!
