Kalina Roberge and Jacques Gregoire were inducted into the Hall of Fame; Hayden Mayor was named Community Champion of the Year
OTTAWA, ONTARIO – Over the past few months, Speed Skating Canada has been busy presenting annual awards to a variety of deserving recipients from across the Canadian speed skating community.
This year’s Hall of Fame inductees — short track skater Kalina Roberge and short track official Jacques Gregoire — were honored during a ceremony at the first ISU World Cup short track event in Montreal last October. Members of the Boudreau-Alexandre family also traveled from Rivière-du-Loup to receive the Gagné Family Award and experience World Cup action first-hand.
A few weeks later, David Richard and Nancy Wilson, last season’s Volunteer of the Year recipients, were honored in front of spectators at their home rink in Laval during the ISU Four Continents Short Track Championships.
Plans are underway to honor several other award winners at the upcoming ISU World Cup Speed Skating event in Quebec City and the season-ending ISU World Cup Speed Skating Championships in Calgary.
