He’s looking back on a very conceited past Triple Ice Action and adventure fantasy game studio, Star Ocean. The first part of the franchise was published in 1996, only twenty-five years ago, and is now a true classic. Over the past two and a half decades, the series has also received four sequels, as well as a tributary and a mobile game.
The last part was announced a few days ago, and it is expected next year Star Ocean Divine Power. This will once again blur the line between fantasy and science fiction, returning to the dual hero system. Some of the heroes come from a modern civilization that is the game’s sci-fi line, while others come from a more backward civilization, the fantasy line.
The developers promise that the story and our relationship with the characters we meet will be shaped by our decisions. One of the heroes will be Raymond of the planet Fergold. He is a naive but kind man and a good warrior who runs one of the ships of a company founded by his family. The other protagonist is Leticia, princess of Osirius’s empire, a resolute but at times a bit militant character. Besides them, we would even be able to control Elena and Albird. We are free to explore the game world, fly more precisely, and if it is a battle, we will face the most active and dynamic combat system in the history of the franchise.
Star Ocean The Divine Force is set for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 and may be released sometime in 2022. ■
