A total of 640 young people from six age groups tested their skills on the last weekend of March at the National Finals of the Category B Student Olympic Championship for the 2023/2024 academic year in Budapest. In the National Sports Hall Girivic Aladar, on the first day, both boys and girls, primary school students, from 1st to 4th participated. The representatives of the age group presented their exercises, and on Sunday the students of high school V. and VI. Age group competitions were held. Those who do not have a competition license, i.e. amateurs, can participate in the AB category Student Olympiad.

There were 3,319 entries in gymnastics competitions across the country, representing a significant increase of around 300 people compared to the previous year, according to the Hungarian Student Sports Union (MDSZ). The number of girls was three times that of boys, and most of them applied from Budapest and Pest County.

At the final, Bence Coffey, head of the MDSZ's regional office in central Hungary, greeted the children and told them that they had no idea how lucky they were. As he explained, not because of the results they achieve, although they are very important, and not because many can be together in the finals of the Student Olympiad, but because

Their teachers and physical trainers saw something in them that no one else could.
