Swimming Balaton postponed, there may be a storm on Saturday, the event is not safe

Due to the uncertain weather, the new date planned for the crossing between Revolup and Balatonboğlar is Sunday 23 July.

Based on the weather forecasts of the Siófok Observatory of the National Meteorological Service – with the approval of the Balaton Water Police Chief – the organizers decided not to hold the Lidl Balaton 41 swim on Saturday.

According to the announcement on the event’s Facebook page, due to the unconfirmed weather forecast for Saturday, the new time scheduled for the swim between Révfülöp and Balatonboglár is Sunday, July 23.

“Sunday’s event is almost certain, but the final decision will be made at noon on Friday.”

– wrote the organizers.

Entries are also valid for the postponed date, in the event of cancellation – which must be notified by 3pm on Friday – the entry fee paid and the amount of any charity products purchased will be fully refunded. A limited number of new entries will be accepted to replace withdrawn participants, and the application will be closed when the number of participants has been reached, but no later than Saturday morning 10am. Nominations can no longer be made on site.

The organizers assured that those who complete the chosen distance will be richer with a voucher that can be redeemed for a 50 percent discount on tickets to the World Athletics Championships in Budapest.
