Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong, confirmed that the country has signed an exclusivity agreement with Taylor Swift: Accordingly, the singer will perform in the region exclusively in Singapore as part of her world tour, the Eras Tour. He writes Guardian.
“Our agencies agreed that he should come to Singapore, perform, and make the tour the only stop in Southeast Asia.”
The Singaporean Prime Minister said at a press conference in Melbourne. According to Long, the agreement is not hostile to other countries in the region, but the politicians of many neighboring countries do not agree with this.
Thailand's prime minister said in February that based on information from concert organizing company AEG, the Singapore government paid between US$2 million and US$3 million (about 1 billion forints) per concert by Taylor Swift's team as part of the exclusive agreement. Incidentally, the singer has given a total of six sold-out concerts in Singapore, with three more to go.
The Guardian also quoted a Filipino lawmaker as saying this
“Good neighbors don't do that.”
Many Taylor Swift fans in Southeast Asia were very disappointed when it was revealed last year that the singer would only be performing in the region as part of her Eras Tour in Singapore.
