Never before has anyone been rescued from such a depth as the Titanic’s wreck. But they already have a fighter jet, and that could give hope to those on board as well.

The search for Titan’s sunken submarine may have reached its final moments. At the time of writing, it is estimated that the five people on board the ship have not had enough oxygen for 10 hours.

Recently, more sounds have been heard in the search area, repeated every 30 minutes. This could give reason for hope, because if the sounds prove to be coming from Titan, the people on board may still be alive. But the bigger question is: How do you rescue such a submarine from the water?

According to Blair Thornton, a scientist at the University of Southampton, if the hit was indeed coming from Titan, that means the worst-case scenario didn’t happen: nothing on the plane exploded. Specialized believes that in this case, a Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle (ROV) could bring it to the surface.

Thornton A Live Science-to He stated that these bots are versatile and can be used to perform tasks that cannot be done with other devices.

Thanks to the sounds of the blows, the team was able to narrow down the search area to an area of about one kilometer. At the same time, ROVs are not fast, and they can travel almost at a fast pace. So it is important, thanks to the noise, to narrow the search area to an area of 100 meters.

At the same time, the specialist explained: if Titan was drifting, now it could be tens of kilometers from the place where it disappeared. At the same time, the search is also complicated by the fact that it is the site of the sinking of the Titanic, as there is a lot of metal that could disturb the sensors.

On Tuesday, the Deep Energy cable-laying vessel has already deployed an ROV in the area, but it is not known if it can descend to a depth of 3,800 metres. The deepest point from which the rescue operation was carried out was 480 meters in 1973.

One of the most promising units is the French research vessel L’Atalante, which has two ROVs capable of descending into the wreck of the Titanic. An object from this depth has already been rescued: a US F-35 fighter jet, which crashed in the South China Sea. This wreck was at a depth of 3,780 metres.

The ROV wrapped the plane with a net, so it was pulled up to the surface with the help of a winch.
