Over the next six months, the Space Shuttle Endeavor will be reassembled with its two launch vehicles. When the mission is completed, the world’s only spacecraft system will be ready for launch.

After more than a decade, the two previously decommissioned Space Shuttle launch vehicles were returned to the vertical position. The media reported, along with photos, that the devices were transported from the Mojave Air and Space Port to the California Science Center by two trucks. Gizmodo.

The two rockets will be presented with the Endeavor spacecraft at the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center. The Endeavor lander has been on display at the California Science Center for the past 11 years, but there it is displayed in a horizontal position. Once it reaches its final location, the world’s only spacecraft system will be in a ready-to-launch mode.

Assembly will take place over the next six months, and this will be the first time it has been done outside a NASA facility. However, the process will not be easy. First, the rockets must be properly prepared and secured, and only then can a large crane lift the shuttle into place.

The 15-story-tall rockets are designed to be reusable. After launching the spacecraft, they landed in the ocean, where they fished out the rockets, repaired them, and then redeployed them.
