This year, contestants can enter their creations in ten categories – created with a Huawei phone but modified with any photo editing software. In the “Portrait” topic, you can present the best selfies. Images projected in the “monochrome” category of monochrome lack color, which helps you focus on subject matter, textures, shapes, patterns, and composition. The “Color” category is the opposite, you can submit images full of color and life. The ‘Shot’ category relates to the magic of captured moments, inviting users to capture special moments.

Photos taken using Night mode are welcome in the “Night” category. Entries in the “Telephoto” category are expected to place a heavy emphasis on important details and clarity of enlarged images. While taking photos in Ultra Wide Angle mode, you can get as close to the subject as possible without cutting out the important elements in the background. In “Super Macro” mode, the small details are more important.

As in previous competitions, this year you can enter the competition with a video. A “Story Creator” call is open to mobile phone registration of up to 15 minutes expressing the creativity of the applicant. Unlike other categories that can only be entered with one picture, the storyteller can use a series of pictures (Images 3 to 9) to express feelings, tell a story, or show changes.

Huawei encourages applicants to enter multiple categories and explore different perspectives, settings, and lighting conditions, as well as the diversity and beauty of life.

According to the call for proposals, the applicant of the three best photos will receive $10,000 (about 3.1 million fort) in addition to the title of “Photographer of the Year”. The winners in the categories – a total of thirty – will be $1,000 richer, and the organizer will also award them a Huawei Watch 3 smartwatch.
