Ten Hag: The whole team trusts Marcus
According to Erik Ten Hag, Manchester United’s coaching staff and team have no doubt that Marcus Rashford will “on fire” again soon.
Our No.10 scored 30 goals last season and won the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year Award, as well as his teammates’ Player of the Year award last year.
Although he has only scored once this season, he assisted on Rasmus Hoglund’s opener in the Champions League clash against Galatasaray in midweek, and the manager is convinced the lack of form is partly down to the team’s performance.
Rashford – who has been included in the England squad for upcoming matches against Australia and Italy – will be looking to score in Saturday’s home game against Brentford before taking another break from domestic duties.
“Of course it depends on the team and on you,” Eric answered in the press conference when asked about the difference between Marcus’ performance at the start of this season and last year’s performance. “It depends on both of them, so I’m sure he can’t always perform at the same level,” he added.
“Of course, everyone knows his qualities, but so does the competitor [a kvalitásait]. But if Rashi does things well and the team does well, he will be in the right places and it is up to him.”
“We have seen the past [néhány] “In the week he reached good positions, he is suffering now, but that will pass because everyone knows his abilities.”
“Everyone at Manchester United, the whole team supports him, believes in him. So I’m sure that with this trust and belief that the team supports him, he will change and these convulsions will pass.”
After pointing out that the speedy striker only needs one goal to break the deadlock, Ten Hag agreed, saying: “It’s always like that. Strikers, when they haven’t scored for a while, they need one goal to get going.”
This moment will come, and he is so experienced that he knows it. “When he does the right things and the team works right, that momentum will come and he will be brilliant.”
Rashford has scored twice in our four Premier League meetings against Brentford. He scored in the capital in January 2022, and last April he scored the only goal of the match in a 1-0 win at Old Trafford.
