The first two matches of the meeting had to be shortened, as Zverev won the first game, and Migvedev won the second 7-5 – after he sprained his ankle and was treated for a long time.
He didn’t give up the game, he did try harder in the final game, but he complained a lot about covering the court. He gained a break advantage and held it until 5:4, at which point he served in the match, but Zverev recovered the lost serve – only for Medvedev to break again and not miss a chance at 6:5.
The Russian, who won his 17th match in the series, will meet Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich in the quarter-finals.
