According to the portal report, the Trogena resort, which is still under construction, will host the competitions scheduled within seven years, the venues of which will be prepared as part of a project worth $ 500 billion (!). The plan is being implemented by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the heir to the Saudi throne.
Trogena was the only candidate for the Continental Winter Games, which have not been held since 2017, as the Olympic Council of Asia faced difficulties in finding a host. Saudi Arabia – where temperatures rarely drop below eight degrees Celsius – is the first country in West Asia to host the event.
The emerging resort in northwestern Saudi Arabia is scheduled to be powered by renewable energy and will include a ski village, luxury family and health facilities, the largest freshwater lake in the region, and an interactive nature reserve.
The project emphasized the importance of sustainability and renewable energy, as well as the fact that in addition to natural snow, artificial snow will also be widely used in competition venues.
