Microbird and Curve Games have created a game that is part RPG and part social simulation… all in the Austrian Alps.
Armed with a sword and a book made for hikers, we explore the beautiful alpine village of Hinterberg and the magic hidden in its dungeons. Master magic, solve puzzles and defeat monsters. Let’s get ready for a vacation in a modern village in the Austrian Alps, but instead of hiking or skiing, we’ll be butchering and looting monsters and solving puzzles. 25 dungeons full of magic recently appeared in the Hinterberg region, killing monsters has become a major tourist attraction, attracting adventurers from all over the world to the small village. Snowboarding down a glacier, racing through a forest, climbing a mountain, or just sipping a cup of coffee by the lake; There will be no shortage of things to explore as we search for the next dungeon.
Monsters lurk around every corner in the Hinterberg. Our skills of sword and sorcery are necessary to keep them at bay. Make use of the wind, create a snowboard from scratch, or freeze your enemies in an ice cube. Navigating dungeons requires more than first-class gym equipment and a good sword arm, as they are full of puzzles that surprise and challenge you. Let’s use our head, our magic power and all the tricks we can to solve it. Spend the nights making friends with the locals and other adventurers. Some of them will help you get stronger or teach you new tricks, others are just here for the action and the selfies… But good relationships not only make your stay unforgettable, they make us better hunters.
Microbird co-founder Regina Reisinger wrote in a press release: “A [Dungeons of] With Hinterberg, our goal is to create a truly special place to explore. From stylized art to a modern, fantasy alpine setting, Dungeons of Hinterberg takes you on a unique vacation filled with monster-slaying and puzzle-solving.”
Dungeons of Hinterberg will be released this spring for Xbox Series X and PC (steam). It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
