The average age of the European Union population reached 44.7 years by 2024, which means that the average age in the European Union increased from 42.5 years in 2014 to 2.2 years. The average age of the population in Hungary has increased 3.1 years to 44.5 years over the period of ten years under review, according to the European Union Statistical Office, MTI, according to Eurostat.
According to the European Union Office, the average age in all member states of the European Union increased during the period under review, with the exception of Malta (-0.7 years old) and Germany (-0.1 years), in the last case, this indicator has not changed in the last two years.
In four countries in the European Union, the average population has increased at least 4 years. These include Greece, Italy, Portugal and Slovakia, followed by Cyprus, Spain and Poland, with an average population of 3.8 years old.
The average age of the population in Italy (48.7 years) was the highest in Ireland (39.4 years). In Hungary, the average population was 44.5 years in 2024, according to the European Union Statistics Office, compared to 44.2 years registered in 2023, 41.4 years registered in 2014 and the available European Union database is older than 32 years registered in 1960.
The report also stipulates that the average age of the population born in the European Union member states was the highest two years old (45.1) of the union's population (43.1 years). 59.7 % was born 20 and 54, born in non -iodide countries but live in the Union, compared to 42.1 per cent of the population born in the Union, according to a report issued by the European Union's statistical office.
Eurostat data is slightly different from the CSO data chain, as the average life of women was 45.1 and 41.1 for men (2024). Average age is not equal to the expected age at birth. The last number was 79.38 years in Hungary in 2023 for women, 73.39 for men.
