At first glance, this green Skoda Superb combination doesn't look like it's eating Ferraris for breakfast, although Czech technology is no longer hidden under its plates. True, the builders did not go far to find a suitable power source, they just took it from another member of the Volkswagen family. The five-cylinder 2.5 TFSI block has been chosen from the Audi A3 RS, as Skoda doesn't get one and is exclusively equipped with a four-cylinder. The masterpiece associated with the Ingolstadt brand and manufactured in Győr is already capable of producing 400 hp, which in this form represents a jump of 120 hp compared to the most powerful Superb.
However, the Green Monster Builders were not satisfied with this. Power from the 2.5-litre engine has been increased to 720 PS and 830 Nm of torque, elevating the spacious and comfortable station wagon to super sports car status.
Based on testing on the German autobahn, it reaches 100 km/h in 3.32 seconds, and covers the distance between 100 and 200 km/h in just 6.06 seconds. It takes 9.38 seconds to reach 200 km/h from a standstill, and the top speed is around 300 km/h.
The first generation Skoda Superb also received V6 engines, both in gasoline and diesel versions, and in the second series there was also a 3.6 VR6 unit, while the third generation, which has been running since 2015, was launched exclusively with a four-cylinder turbocharged engine.
