One of the main models of the brand’s conversion kit will be the smallest electric limousine.

Mercedes will present several of its new products at the Munich Motor Show in September. New EQA, EQB, and EQV arrive, but perhaps more interesting is the arrival of an entirely new concept, which the company calls “Entry Luxury.” The essence of this approach is that Mercedes will offer fewer models in the future – instead of seven, just four in the slimmer class – but with a higher sense of distinction than now.

The model presented as a concept will certainly be a preview of the CLA electric sedan, which will be a serious competitor to the Tesla Model 3, or even the BMW Neue Klasse model that will appear with the opening of the Debrecen plant. The model is also important from the point of view that the current CLA model is only produced in Kecskemét, so it can be assumed that this electric model will soon transform the range of the Hungarian manufacturer as well.

The new CLA is being developed on the so-called MMA platform, an architecture specifically designed for electric vehicles, but also suitable for building hybrid cars. The new CLA will be available with a voltage system of up to 800 volts, which allows charging power of 350 kW. This will allow the batteries to be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in less than half an hour.

The new electric CLA is scheduled to be presented to the public in its final form in the second half of next year. However, you will have to wait until 2025 for the first copies to appear in dealerships.
