They simply left his bulky baggage on the concrete.
Every airline traveler’s nightmare is losing their checked baggage, and this situation doesn’t necessarily help much if the airline can mix up baggage at another country or airport. Recently, American magician Danny Orleans ran into a problem. He made it from Chicago to Newark thanks to United Airlines, but waited in vain in the conveyor belt for his luggage containing the props and accessories needed for his performance.
As is typical these days, the Apple AirTag tracking device was hidden in his luggage, and to great relief it turned out he had been carrying his bags at the airport, and workers simply left it on the concrete when the plane was unloaded. Unfortunately, even though he showed his phone to the airline’s customer service, they refused to send someone for him, and instead he was promised his package would be delivered to his hotel within five business days. This was not an option, because he needed to be fired immediately, and he had only been in town for three days.
The deceitful magician finally solved the problem: after checking his bags through the window, he bought a refundable plane ticket to Boston, thus passing security, and then asked a nearby United Airlines employee to pick up the bags, so that he could finally pick them up at the conveyor belt as usual.
The helpful employee was surprised by this omission, and as far as he knew, the company had not yet been able to leave anyone’s baggage behind.
