The designer of Dead Cells doesn't like that there aren't more content updates for the game

One of the game's designers is complaining that there will be no more content updates for Dead Cells and believes it's all just a marketing ploy, although there is a completely different reason behind the decision.

As we wrote, the legendary roguelike will not be getting any more additions. Although the game's hand will not be released forever and minor and major fixes will arrive in the same way, patch 35 will be the last “creative update”.

the Computer gamesN Concerned colleagues noticed that Sebastien Benard, one of the game's designers, commented on this decision on the game's official Discord server. According to him, the Motion Twin ad that “It is important not to over-stretch the string and risk losing the special charm of the game“, is just an empty marketing trick – he said it this way: “Mass marketing nonsense“.

It's important to know that although Motion Twin recorded Dead Cells in 2018, when it was released, it is now being managed by Evil Empire – a development studio that has spun off from Motion Twin – at least for now. According to Benard, the original studio's greed justifies the decision and wishes the best to the Evil Empire staff, hoping they will survive this blow.

Sébastien Benard left the company in December 2019. According to him, he was “asked” to leave due to the tense atmosphere.
