A successor to the Exynos 1480, which Samsung has only actually used in the Galaxy A55, has been introduced, although it has proven to be quite a power-efficient chip in practice with fair performance. The new chipset is built on Samsung's third-generation 4nm FinFET node with ARMv9 cores, in a three-cluster arrangement, where the Cortex-A720 Prime core runs at 2.9GHz, the three A720 cores run at 2.6GHz, and four A520 modules are provided. The energy operates at a frequency of 1.95 GHz.
The GPU based on the AMD RDNA 3 architecture remains present, but with two WGPs of the Xclipse 540 series and a GL2 accelerator with an increased clock rate, which in principle is 37% overall, and 20% with the same power consumption as the Exynos 1480 means an increase in Performance The capabilities of the NPU have probably not changed significantly, but the allocated cache has been increased by 2MB, and this time it is also numerically indicated that the 6K MAC type module can perform 14.7 trillion operations per second.
Other parameters are the same as those of the previous generation, but in addition to UFS 3.1 internal storage, the Exynos 1580 can only be paired with LPDDR5 RAM with a maximum capacity of 12GB, and Bluetooth has changed to the 5.4 standard. Aside from that, everything remains the same, which means 144Hz FHD+ image refresh, a 200MP camera with the option to record 4K at 60fps, 5.1Gbps downloading on sub-6 and mmWave 5G networks, and support WiFi 6E.
Based on the Geekbench results so far, the panel scored 1,046 points for single-threaded CPU and 3,678 points for multi-threaded CPU on the Test Bench 5, scored by the device codenamed SM-A566B, which is believed to be the Galaxy A56. 1,350/3,830 points on Geekbench 6 in its version. Taking into account the results of AnTuTu 10 (841545), it is almost comparable to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 (819055), compared to which it can show some advantages.
