There was an important gathering waiting for Dunaújváros in the women's water polo team, in the 16th round of NB I, as direct rivals hosted Eger in a local setting. The win meant that the Viger County team would almost certainly finish the regular season in third place.
Guest player Dorothea Szilagyi started the scoring one minute after the start, and Lili Dorina Dube equalized six minutes before the end of the first quarter. Soon after, Eger had the advantage again, Csenge Szellák had the advantage of a productive man, and as there were no more goals until half-time, the two teams went to the break with Eger leading 2-1.
In the second half, it took DFVE more than a minute to equalize through Geraldine Maheu, who took the lead four minutes before half-time on a goal by Dube Dorina Lilly. In the remaining time, Eger tried to equalize, but he was unable, and the first half ended with the hosts leading 3-2.
After the turn, Weston Eve took a good three minutes to equalize, then with a minute and a half left in the quarter, a Csenge Szellák goal gave Eger the lead again, 3-4.
In the last eight minutes, Igris quickly concluded the substantive issues of the meeting. Bebor Bogoni scored the first goal, then scored three minutes before the end, giving the visitors a 6-3 lead. There was a minute and a half remaining when Cristina Garda scored from the penalty spot, but Bogoni, who had performed well, scored her third goal, and although Dorina Dorina did the same ten seconds later, Eger could still be pleased, as It won 7-5 and took the three points from Donajváros.
The Újváros players will then jump into the pool against Győr in a home environment on April 13, from 11:00 a.m., and then visit Szeged's home a week later to conclude the regular season.
