The first temperature alert this year has been issued for the weekend in England

The first temperature alert this year was sounded at the weekend in England, because the temperature could reach 30C, the online edition of Britain’s Guardian newspaper wrote on Wednesday.

The alert, issued by the UK Health Safety Authority (UKHSA) and the Met Office, will be in place from 9am on Friday until Monday morning and cover six regions: London, East Midlands, West Midlands, East, South East and South West. England.

An expert from the Health Safety Bureau said:

The first consistently warm period of the year may arrive in the next few days, so it’s important for everyone to take care of hydrating and cooling down.

He added that a high temperature can cause problems, especially for the elderly and those suffering from respiratory or cardiovascular diseases.

The UKHSA urged residents to stay out of the sun between 11am and 3pm and to do physical activity, such as working out or walking the dog, at cooler times of the day, in the morning or evening.

The agency advised people to pay close attention to family members, friends and neighbors who may be at higher risk of contracting the disease, and to know the symptoms and treatment of heatstroke.

Dan Harris of the Met Service warned that the warm weather could bring heavy rain and thunderstorms, which could cause traffic disruptions.
