It’s hard for developers to come up with something revolutionary every year, but 2K Sports has jumped the ante, changing the gameplay in NBA 2K24 based on fan feedback.
This year, the Visual Concepts team listened to fan feedback and changed the gameplay of basketball stuff based on that. The improvements are “more skill-based and intuitive, speeding up your gaming experience.”
Shooting and dribbling when attacking are easier and more intuitive than ever, allowing players of any skill level to excel on the field. On the other hand, defense has become skill-based: wing defense and paint defense are more efficient and reward players more for insight and understanding of their situation. Adrenaline Boost has also been redesigned to make it more exciting both when attacking and defending.
2K Smart Play is back on next-gen consoles to help players streamline offense, defense and training, making the game easier, with 16 favorite actions to choose from, from full plays to singles to give and take. Takeover also returns to the new generation of consoles, but with a new twist. Charge your possession meter, then choose to activate your finishing, shooting, dexterity, physical, defensive, or rebounding abilities.
Let’s hope for more great basketball battles this year in NBA 2K24, which arrives September 8 for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
