MPs are also discussing the proposal regarding the location of battery reprocessing plants and extending the operating hours of the Pakse Nuclear Power Plant, but they are also discussing international agreements and amendments to the National Defense Act in Parliament. The meeting begins at nine in the morning with words on the agenda, and then representatives discuss two international agreements. The first concerns cooperation between the Hungarian and Austrian rescue services, and the other concerns the cooperation between the Hungarian and Austrian rescue services
It concerns traffic control on the land and railway borders between Hungary and Ukraine at border crossing points.
There will be a joint general discussion on amending national defense laws, as well as amending some laws related to amending national defense laws. The legislative proposals relate to the thirteenth amendment to the Basic Law that was approved last June, according to which it should be specified in a pivotal law.
Rules relating to the authorization of military operations, stationing and other troop movements involving border crossings of the Hungarian Armed Forces, as well as military operations, stationing and other troop movements involving border crossings of foreign armed forces affecting the territory of Hungary.
Part of the delegating powers currently allocated to Parliament will be transferred to the Government. The decision on the deployment and stationing of foreign armed forces in Hungary or from the territory of Hungary will remain within the competence of Parliament, if such activities are not based on a decision of the UN Security Council, NATO or the European Union. In the latter cases, the government can decide, as well, on the employment or stationing of national defense forces abroad.
There are amendments to the financial intermediation system and other laws on the agenda, so that the location of the battery recycling plant can henceforth be determined by the Minister responsible for industrial affairs.
Parliament may declare 2025 and 2026 as the Hungarian Year of Science on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and a proposed resolution to this effect will be discussed on Tuesday.
Through the experience of the authorities and the inquiries of water utility service providers, they justify an amendment to the Water Utility Services Act, which, among other things, changes the operating licensing procedures for such service providers, provisions relating to circulation development plans and user fees. The last item on the agenda is amending the Nuclear Energy Law. The purpose is to establish legal provisions for the operation of the Pakse Nuclear Power Plant beyond its planned operating hours.
