The Huawei Mate 70 series could be much more expensive to produce than the iPhone 16 mobile phones

According to the latest reports, Huawei will choose expensive components to manufacture the Mate 70 series members, and this decision will increase the overall production cost. Insiders know that the production of the flagship Mate 70 phones could cost up to 30% more than the cost of the iPhone 16 mobile phones.

Recently, leakers working on Weibo wrote that Huawei will use expensive components to produce the soon-to-be-launched flagship phones. The display panel, camera module, primary lens, processor, and power efficiency chip will add significantly to the cost. Tipsters claim that the production cost of the Mate 70 models will be 30% more than the new Apple iPhone 16 devices.

Previous rumors claimed that Huawei would use advanced components to manufacture mobile phones. The company is said to be testing improved display technology, new OmniVision camera sensors, more advanced 3D facial recognition, and several other components. Therefore, it is not at all surprising that the production cost of members of the Mate 70 series is higher compared to their predecessors and other competing devices.

But this does not necessarily mean that new products will cost more. Moreover, according to preliminary information, despite the higher production costs, the Mate 70 series will not be more expensive than the iPhone 16 models. What's more, some bundles could cost the same as previous generation phones. The exact prices have not yet been announced by any leaker and are likely to be revealed only next month.

Originally, we knew that the Huawei Mate 70 series would be released in September this year, but the 3-way bendable Mate XT arrived instead, and it has undoubtedly stolen the spotlight from all the recently introduced mobile phones. The Mate 70 models were delayed due to hardware and software improvements, and the company is working on the HarmonyOS Next operating system for the devices. Another reason for the delay is the production of the Kirin chipset that powers the phones.

Huawei's consumer business president, Yu Chengdong, said that the Mate 70 series will debut in the fourth quarter of this year. If we follow this statement, the capital ships are not behind at all and could be commissioned as early as next month.
