The Hungarian national team won the gold medal in the European U-15 Men’s Water Polo Championship, which concluded on Sunday in Podgorica, after defeating host Montenegro 10-8 in the final.

Hungarian scorers: Jambor 3, Pintier, Condor, Raab 2-2, Gedra.
Federal coach Zsolt Juhasz’s team lost all three matches in the group stage, but according to the new arrangement, they can still enter the quarter-finals against an opponent from a weaker division. The team qualified for the quarter-finals by defeating the Netherlands 11-5, which then defeated the Croats 8-7, and then defeated the Serbs 11-6 in the semi-finals.
In the final match, the host team from Montenegro was waiting for the Hungarians, to whom they lost 11-8 in the group stage. Sunday’s match brought a much better match from Hungary: Benedek Raab’s goal set the tone, and although the hosts managed to draw level at 1-1 and 4-4, they were never able to take the lead.
The Hungarian national team built a three-goal advantage midway through the fourth period, which they maintained confidently until the final whistle – Raab scored the last shot again, putting the match in the frame.
The most successful player in the match was Chaba Jambor with three goals.
