He won the Audience Award Wildlife Photographer of the Year In the nature photography competition, the photo of the expedition group called Nima captured a polar bear sleeping on an iceberg. Explorers have already been searching for polar bears in the Svalbard archipelago in Norway for three days. They had just stopped searching when they found the male specimen in the photo, which dug out a bed of ice with its claws and then fell into a deep sleep.
Also in Norway, it was possible to catch moon jellyfish, gathered by the hundreds in the cold waters of a fjord near Tromsø in the north under the northern lights. The moon jellyfish is a permanent resident of the oceans and is easily recognized by its four rings, which are actually its reproductive organs. Photographer Audun Rikardsen managed to capture this unusual sight by hiding his equipment in a self-made waterproof house.
Daniele Dincisco followed a flock of birds in Rome for hours, which danced in the sky all day, finally forming a giant bird in the sky.
It is usual for female lions to raise their cubs together. It is no different for individuals living in the Masai Mara in Kenya. As you can clearly see in Mark Boyd's photo, a lion cub enjoys the attention of two mothers. Lions go hunting at night, and for this time they hide the smallest members of the pride in dense bushes.
Photographer Tsahi Finkelstein was photographing birds by the water in the Jezreel Valley in Israel when he saw a turtle walking in the shallow water. The dragonfly flew towards the animal and finally settled on the turtle's nose, which – according to Finkelstein's photo – the turtle was very happy about.
