The Israeli military launched an airstrike on the Lebanese capital. The Israeli military confirmed that the raid on the outskirts of Beirut was aimed at eliminating a leader of the armed Hezbollah organization – written by The Times of Israel. According to Israel, the man may have been involved in a rocket attack Saturday on a soccer field in a Druze village in the Golan Heights. Children were playing in the field, and most of the 12 victims were children.
Israel has made clear that it will respond to the attack on the village of Majmal Sams against the dominant Shiite militant organization in Lebanon, backed by Iran, although international concerns could easily lead to an escalation of the nine-month-old Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the Gaza Strip. Hezbollah initially issued a statement suggesting its involvement in Saturday's rocket attack, but later denied involvement.

The target may have survived.
The target of the attack was the leader of Hezbollah's armed wing, whom sources who spoke to Reuters and AFP identified as Mohsen Sukkar or Fouad Sukkar. I don't knowAnd whether the man was in the eight-story building that houses one of Hezbollah's command rooms at the time of the targeted raid. According to Al Arabiya, the operation did not hit its target, and Reuters sources later reported that the commander may have survived.
