Israel opened its pavilion on Friday, the second day of Expo 2020 Dubai, after the opening ceremony on Thursday night. The event has been postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The World Expo in the United Arab Emirates is the first of its kind to be held in the Middle East, where Israel has the opportunity to show itself to millions of visitors, after contacts with the host country as part of the Ibrahim Agreement.
More than 190 countries will participate in the six-month event.
According to a statement issued by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they were invited to participate in 2018. Even before signing agreements with the UAE and Dubai and before signing agreements with Morocco and Sudan.
A total of 17 different ministries, the Jewish National Fund and the Israel Electric Corporation worked to assemble the pavilion, led by the Foreign Ministry and the Prime Minister’s Office.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs estimates that the exhibition is expected to attract about 15 million visitors to the Israeli pavilion.

“The pavilion’s shape is inspired by desert dunes that can be found in both Israel and the Gulf states. All of this reflects the idea that tomorrow will unite us and that we will create a better future for all of humanity by connecting minds and working together,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The pavilion is expected to host a number of economic, commercial and technology events.
