The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is preparing to host the Women’s World Cup

October 20, 2023 – 3:37 pm

Monica Stapp, director of the German women’s national team, said that Saudi Arabia wants to host the 2035 Women’s World Cup. According to Insidethegames.

“I know they want to host the men’s World Cup, but why not host the women’s World Cup in 2035? We are just starting to prepare a team to be able to host the World Cup in 2035,” said Stubb, who will live in the country from 2021, working first as a coach, and now as a manager. Competition is at a high level.”

Saudi Arabia is applying to organize the men’s World Cup in 2034, which has already been officially announced, and the women’s tournament is still just a plan at the moment. The country’s tourism agency wanted to sponsor the Women’s World Cup in August, but FIFA’s plan was postponed due to protests from the organisations, Australia and New Zealand.

The Australian president of Amnesty International said: “It would be a great irony if this organization supported the largest women’s sporting event in the world, when women in the country cannot even do the work without the permission of men.”

We wrote in this article how much Saudi Arabia has changed world football with its transfers in just a few months. This other article from ours sheds light on the situation of women.
