A new post from Naughty Dog indicates that The Last of Us multiplayer will be available not only for PS5, but also for PS4 in the future. The Last of Us is one of the most popular video game franchises, which has continued to grow in popularity thanks to the hit series on HBO. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what the developer has in store for them in the game world.
The Last of Us Part II was released on PS4 in 2020 and was a huge hit with critics and gamers alike. The game was originally supposed to include a multiplayer mode based on the Factions online game mode from The Last of Us Part 1, but this was eventually excluded from the final version. However, Naughty Dog later announced that they were working on a multiplayer standalone project set in the world of The Last of Us.
So far, we don’t know much about this mysterious multiplayer game, but now a recent job posting might reveal it. Naughty Dog is looking for an “Associate Multiplayer QA Tester” on their website, and one of their requirements is “working knowledge of PS4 and PS5 systems”. This may indicate that the multiplayer game will not only appear on the new generation console, but also on the previous generation PS4.
This wouldn’t be a surprising move from Naughty Dog, as the PS4 still had a huge user base and not many were able to switch to the PS5 due to the lack of a console. In addition, the multiplayer game is already ready for PS4, as it was originally intended to be part of The Last of Us Part II. Of course, this does not mean that the game does not take advantage of the additional capabilities of the PS5.
Naughty Dog has not officially confirmed this information or when the multiplayer game is expected to be introduced or released. However, we hope to hear more about this exciting project soon, which is sure to attract many fans.
