In order to participate in the second Republican presidential debate, one had to have at least 50,000 donors, in 20 US states, and achieve a popularity score of 3% in two or one national poll. One state is an important poll for the elections.
Only one Republican candidate who participated in the first debate withdrew from the second debate: Asa Hutchinson Former Arkansas Governor.
He did not even enter the first discussion Perry Johnsonn businessman, Will Hurd Former Texas Representative larry elder, Radio personality and Francis SuarezMayor of Florida. Suarez also withdrew his candidacy.
The list of participants in the second round was as follows:
- Doug BurgumGovernor of North Dakota,
- Chris Christie Former Governor of New Jersey,
- Ron DeSantisGovernor of Florida,
- Nikki HaleyFormer Ambassador to the United Nations and Governor of South Carolina,
- mike pence, Former Vice President
- Vivek RamaswamyBiotechnology entrepreneur,
- And Tim Scott Senator from South Carolina.
Donald Trump, the most likely Republican presidential nominee according to most polls, will not participate in the event by his own decision.
Presidential candidate debates are important because they can be used to significantly influence public opinion and communicate important campaign messages to voters. After a successful debate, even a candidate who had almost no chance of becoming president before the debate can gain national recognition.
